Light it · Plant it · Grow it
From candle to plant
From the first flame to the first sprout: everything you need to know, in 9 easy steps. The seeds and the coconut fibre are already in the box.

In the box
Your candle, a packet of surprise seeds and a block of dehydrated coconut fibre. Nothing else to buy.
Your surprise seeds
Vegetables (radish, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, cress), flowers (poppy, cornflower, cosmos, wildflowers) or herbs (basil, mint, parsley, chives).
What you need
A small bowl of water, hot water to rinse the shell and a little patience.
Step by step
The 9 steps

Step 1
Let it burn
The first time you light it, let the wax melt across the whole surface so it burns down evenly.

Step 2
Remove the wick
Once the candle is finished, take out what is left of the wick.

Step 3
Clean the shell
Rinse it with hot water.

Step 4
Soak the fibre
Place the coconut fibre block, net and all, in water for about 1 minute, until it doubles in size.

Step 5
Remove the net
Once the fibre has swelled, peel off the thin net.

Step 6
Fill the shell
Put the moist coconut fibre into the shell.

Step 7
Plant the seeds
Sow them about 5 mm (¼ in) deep.

Step 8
Water as needed
Keep the fibre moist, never soggy.

Step 9
Wait and admire
Your first sprouts appear within a few days or weeks, depending on the variety.
Where to put it
In a bright spot, away from strong direct sunlight.
What next?
Once the sprouts are sturdy, repot them into a bigger pot so they can keep growing.
